Five Heart Podcast Episode 88: Reviewing Nebraska’s Loss to Troy

)-2. That sucks. Let’s try to make the best of a bad situation. But it’ll take some time for us to get to that point. Ouch. That one stung. No one (probably not even most Troy fans) foresaw the Trojans coming into Memorial Stadium and leaving with a 24-19 win. And it was eerily similar to the loss to Colorado in that the Huskers could not get out of their own way. Turnovers, penalties, play calling all doomed Nebraska in their final game of the...

Evening Games and Husker Volleyball Thread

It hasn’t been a good day for the B1G so far. Can OSU, Penn State, Iowa, and Northwestern salvage the day? Volleyball works to do the same for Lincoln. There are some good games happening tonight. Let’s drown our sorrows together. Find the nearest stream of the Husker Volleyball match against Missouri State. My apologies for including all the games for today and not just the evening slate. Unfortunately, I can’t edit the table. Source: Corn Nation

CN Staff Loses Your Money: Troy Edition

Is anybody picking Troy? Consider this crew’s track record, we better hope so… Mike: Well, at least all five games were played last week. That’s progress! Patrick G.: Hey, I was right about Colorado beating Nebraska. Oh man, I was right about Colorado beating Nebraska….I went 2-3 as a whole for the predictions last week. Let’s see if I can do better. Nate M: Looks like last week I changed my Colorado pick from Colorado by 3 to Colorado by 6 mid paragraph. Impressive. Or...

2018 Nebraska Basketball Player Profiles: Thorir Thorbjarnarson, The Best Name in All of College Basketball?

Will “Thor” be able to contribute this year for Tim Miles? Thorir “THOR” Thorbjarnarson, the 6-foot-5 Icelandic Native, comes into this season having played only nine games last year, 19 minutes in total. Thor enrolled late into Nebraska, when Tim Miles persuaded him around the middle of summer. Thor made the most of his opportunities when he would go in towards the end of a blowout, specifically the game his parents watched in the seats of Pinnacle Bank Arena. Thor made two out of two...

Thursday Night Game Thread!

Yay! It’s Thursday! This is not the college football Thursday night of old. Apparently, the NFL has decided that they will own Thursday night because they’re the NFL and they have more money than 80% of the countries in the world, and with that money they can dominate the airwaves. Hence… some slim pickins’ on Thursday night for college football. Your NFL Game Tonight: Ravens vs Bengals on the NFL Network at 7:20 PM Central. That sounds really exciting. Source: Corn Nation

The Corn Nation Big Ten Power Poll – Week 2

Jill: I dropped Minnesota even after a close win vs Fresno because of Rodney Smith’s injury but maybe they have another back to just plug in. I haven’t watched Indiana at all, so they got whatever spot I didn’t have a number for. Penn St and Michigan haven’t look as good as Ohio St and Wiscy, but I couldn’t see putting them below Maryland or Iowa yet. Nebraska stays in the middle because of their loss. Nate: One and two are easy. Give credit to...

Nebraska Releases Additional Video of Adrian Martinez Injury vs Colorado

It’s pretty damning is what it is The University of Nebraska released non-broadcast video of the Adrian Martinez today, and if there were any doubt that Martinez’ injury was intentionally caused… Well, I’ll let you decide. Upon request, Nebraska has released its own video of the play Saturday that led to QB Adrian Martinez’s knee injury, showing multiple angles in a 102-second clip. Here is the best look Scott Frost was alluding to in Monday’s presser. pic.twitter.com/JYT5YJm5Qb— Evan Bland (@EvanBlandOWH) September 12, 2018 In the...

Nebraska Practice Report: Chinander Goes Into More Detail About The Blackshirt Mentality and Martinez Did Not Practice Again

Even after the loss on Saturday, one of the most encouraging things that came out of the game was the play of the defense. The defense played so horrible last year that we expected some type of improvement. However, I think most people were pleasantly surprised with the effort and physicality the defense played with in the game against Colorado. I mean, would have you seen this from last year’s defense? This is how you should attack a blocker on the edge, bootle just blows...
