Husker Baseball Walks Off Indiana 7-6

Jon Johnston Gunner Hellstrom plates Spencer Schwellenbach with winning run in ninth inning. Friday Flakes: Twitter Makes the Jobs of “Bag Men” Easier

Photo by Sergei SavostyanovTASS via Getty Images There are two types of people. The first type makes up the overwhelming percentage of humanity that are good people who strive to provide for their friends, family and/or community in various ways. They try to improve their lot in life and by doing so they help others. The second type can be found on twitter. With that all said, twitter announced today that you can now “tip” people who are on twitter. Do you know who also...

Nebraska Baseball vs Rutgers: A Series Loss in Photos

Jon Johnston It was a lot of fun, but not so much winning. A little late, but here’s your photo gallery of last week’s series against Rutgers. We get them again this weekend, so there’s a chance for revenge. Everyone in the Big Ten has fun with rutger and how bad they are across sports, but their baseball fortunes might be changing with the hiring of Steve Owens. They are in process of raising money to build a new baseball facility, so they are yet...

Nebraska Football Spring Game: Photo Gallery !

Jon Johnston It was a great day to be a Husker! I had an exceptional time at the Nebraska spring game this past weekend. I wasn’t as worried about watching great football as much as I had the desire to be around tons of Nebraska football fans. I have spent more than a year without being around crowds of sports fans and perhaps like many of you, I missed it a great deal. Between the spring game and the baseball series against Rutgers, the crowds...

Frosted Flakes: Mascot Preferences and Big Ten Draft Recap

Photo by Michael Hickey/Getty Images What would you pick as the Huskers’ mascot? Yesterday after seeing a Blackshirts sticker my son was asking me about the Huskers’ mascot. I explained Herbie Husker and Lil’ Red to him. Then he asked me which one I liked better. I chose Herbie over Lil’ Red, but it did take me a little while to decide. I am not really partial to either of them. My son said he thought it should be a skeleton with a Husker helmet...

They have removed Southeastern Louisiana from the schedule and replaced them with Fordham. The Southeastern Louisiana game was scheduled at home on November 13. Athletic Director Bill Moos has been trying to get an earlier home game scheduled. He’s now done that as the Fordham game will be played on September 4th. “We have been actively exploring opportunities to play a home game on Sept....

Rutgers Sweeps Nebraska Baseball As Husker Offense Goes Dead

It was an exception weekend for the Scarlet Knights | Jon Johnston Huskers manage only three hits in finale. Last time Nebraska was swept in a series was 2029 vs. Oregon State. The last time they were swept in the Big Ten Conference was at Michigan in 2016. Another beautiful, but windy day in Lincoln provided the setting for the third game of Nebraska’s series against Rutgers. Looking to change the team’s karma, Coach Will Bolt had the team out in their all white uniforms...
