Tyler Stone providing the power | Nebraska Athletics Cornhuskers win their first Big Ten series of the season Nebraska and Rutgers faced off for game two of their series on a sunny, but chilly day at Haymarket Park. The Scarlet Knights put a promising freshman, Landon Mack (3-2, 3.15 ERA), on the mound to face Cornhusker sophomore Ty Horn (0-4, 7.39 ERA) looking to ever the series for the boys from New Jersey. 1-6-3 DP ends the top half. The Huskers win in 5 innings for the second straight day over the Iowa Hawkeyes On day 2 of the Iowa-Nebraska 3-game series, the rain decided to hold off, but it was still a cloudy and gloomy day. This especially for the Iowa Hawkeyes who continue to just suck in every way, shape, and form as a school and as a state. The Huskers had to unfortunately travel to the gross state this weekend for the series, but have taken care of business the first... |
Photo by Candice Ward/Getty Images We are in the Crown Tournament final! FIRST HALF ANALYSIS: Pearson Carmichael came out hot early for Boise State, hitting back-to-back 3-pointers. The Broncos took an early 5 point lead thanks to starting off the game 5 for 8 from the floor. Cale Jacobsen, an underrated Crown Tournament hero for Nebraska, picked up his 2nd foul just 6 minutes in. Nebraska then would go on a wretched field goal drought, as they would not hit a bucket in 6 minutes... |
Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images The 18-year-old sophomore is gone after only three months with the program. Nebraska Cornhuskers Head Coach Matt Rhule confirmed today that Hardley Gilmore IV has been dismissed from the football team. The 18-year-old sophomore transferred from Kentucky following the hire of his position coach, Daikiel Shorts, by the Huskers shortly after the Pinstripe Bowl. Rhule said there was “nothing criminal or anything like that. Just won’t be with us anymore.” He added it didn’t involve anything which occurred outside the... |
Photo by Frank Jansky/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images Ugnius Jarusevicius. Now try and spell that name with your eyes closed. I for one am excited to have to continually double check the spelling of this new Husker’s name next season. Jon Rothstein reported this morning that the first-team All-MAC player in Central Michigan big man, Ugnius Jarusevicius, has committed to Nebraska. He averaged 16.2 points per game and 7.3 rebound per game for the Chippewas. He shot 31% from three and 71.8% from the free... |

Nebraska Athletics 7 straight shutout innings to end the game start the Huskers off on the front foot. It was a tale of two games. Who would have thought that when the two lowest scoring teams in the Big Ten came to play that we would see the scoreboard light up early? Nebraska has struggled on offense mightily for the majority of the first half of the season, and yet, Rutgers was behind them in most categories in the Big Ten, and by a lot... |
Nebraska Athletics The Huskers hit it pretty well, but when Iowa gave them almost twice as many freebies? It was over early and Iowa ran up a huge white flag pretty quick. See ya’ tomorrow? This evening, they decided to play some softball in the rain in Iowa City. A likely reason they did is the same reason Iowa would not be allowed to host a regional, although such a circumstance still appears far from being an issue. Their diamond is all FieldTurf. Many college... |
Nebraska Athletics The Huskers head to bowels of Iowa City to take on a much improved Hawkeyes squad. Although there’s a little more detail below, perhaps the most glaring example of what a single game can mean was best shown by taking a look at the conference standings after Nebraska’s 6-2 loss to Purdue on Monday afternoon. As it stands now, the Huskers at 6-2 currently sit in a tie for 5th in the now 17-team Big 10 (USC does not field a team). Had... |
Photo by Michael Hickey/Getty Images It is a great day to celebrate. Fred Hoiberg and Nebraska basketball is losing a ton of offensive production from this year’s team and the Huskers are in the search for additions to next year’s team. Step in Pryce Sandfort from the Iowa Hawkeyes. GBR pic.twitter.com/5SeLKbbTAx — Pryce Sandfort (@prycesandfort) April 4, 2025 He mainly came off the bench for Iowa in 2024-2025 but he was a 40% three point shooter who averaged 8.8 points per game. I am excited... |
Photo by Dustin Satloff/Getty Images The steady hand for Nebraska is Dylan Raiola at quarterback. The most interesting thing about the room is the three guys behind him. What happens if Raiola goes down with an injury? Are they supremely confident in Jalyn Gramstad? What about the the next freshman or the transfer from Purdue? These are all questions that I would love to have answered this spring but truthfully we won’t know until the bullets start flying. Welcome to the quarterbacks for Nebraska this... |
