Stephen Bruce CornNation photographer Stephen Bruce was on hand for the USC game this last weekend. He provides the following photos. The game outcome wasn’t what we wanted, but I present to you these very fine photos taken by Mr. Bruce, who no doubt hours spent picking the best, color correcting, cropping, and presenting you the 2024 Nebraska vs. USC football game. Like the first photo, which looks like yet another hold on a Nebraska player by a USC offensive lineman. In the very last...
Photo by Sean M. Haffey/Getty Images Bowl eligibility watch continues for another week Bowl eligibility watch continues for another week. We won’t talk about Nebrasketball. The Husker women represented well this weekend. The basketball team set some school records while torching the Coyotes (which always warms this Jackrabbit heart). The volleyball team notched another sweep before prepping for difficult matches to end the season. The Husker football team opened as favorites against the Badgers. So, there’s that? Our next opponent just fired their offensive coordinator…...
Photo by Sean M. Haffey/Getty Images I’m sure you have opinions. We have a lot to talk about after Nebraska is STILL winless against USC following Saturday’s 28-20 final. This week on Corn Nation’s Overreaction, Hoss and Greg are going to talk about running backs Emmett Johnson and Dante Dowdell and how the run game was milk-cartoned late in the game. The guys also discuss the emergence of Nate Boerkircher, and how Heinrich Haarberg could be a star in this offense. What was the Dana...
| After the blatant holding non-call… | Photo by Sean M. Haffey/Getty Images The frustration continues. Nebraska dropped yet another one score game that the Huskers could have won. Maybe even would have won, if the referees would have flagged Trojan cornerback DeCarlos Nicholson for a blatant hold on the game’s final play. Should have won? Wellll, that’s probably a stretch. Southern Cal outgained the Huskers 441-310 and pretty much seemed to be the better team Saturday, at least from my perspective. It was an uneven... |

Sammy Smith A team effort leads to a win at home Nebraska 3 vs Indiana 0- 25-12, 25-17, 25-19 The team wore retro jerseys but moved forward in their quest to win the Big Ten Championship. Indiana used many different line ups and offensive looks but Huskers stayed focused and responded to each Hoosier move with solid defense. As a team, there were six blocks, Rebekah Allick was a part of five of those. Allick was also productive offensively. She had five kills on 11...
Photo by Bailey Hillesheim/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images Career nights and broken records help Nebraska cruise to a win against South Dakota This game was never in doubt, like ever. When you have career nights from four different players, a broken school record, and nine different players hit a three..the odds are probably in your favor. Nebraska also had five players in double digits tonight The previous Nebraska school record for threes in a game was 17, the Huskers put up 20 tonight. With the...
Steve Bruce “Here we go again”. It’s probably time to actually printing up the T-shirts. Two handfuls of jerseys. The first one happened before Jamahl Banks came down with the ball which was ruled incomplete after a review. The Huskers settled for a field goal giving them a 17-14 lead rather than a fresh set of downs and a crack at 21. Banks was a victim the second time as well, this time from the 19 with :05 remaining. As Greedy Vance positioned himself for...
Stephen Bruce Nebraska lost yet another one score game to USC to miss out on bowl eligibility. There were so many things that happened in this game that were questionable – it’s hard to believe we’re going in the right direction. Fans are going to complain about the defense while the defense was gashed for some big plays, they are not the reason why Nebraska can’t win one score games. That continues to fall on the offense. The offense in this game scored 13 points...

Photo by John Cordes/Icon Sportswire/Corbis/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images Game day is here, so let’s get set for the Holgor-fence. Also, for fans of the USC Song Girls, you’re welcome. 2024 Playing for Bowl Eligibility Episode #4 will be commencing at 3PM CST. This week’s contestants are the USC Trojans who bring a 4-5 record to Coliseum. And as I similarly warned last week in this column, they’re probably not going to look like a 4-5 team. They are currently ranked #24 in Jeff Sagarin’s...
