Photo by Bryan Lynn/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images The fiery former Nebraska linebackers coach returns to coach a unit in desperate need of a spark. Early in the 2024 season Ty Robinson and Huskers grad assistant Jack Potenza decided to celebrate a big play with a leaping hip bump which resulted in Potenza being launched like a Fairbury Frank shot from Der Wienerschlinger. (The two settled for simple handshakes going forward.) Such coach-threatening displays may be back on the table as it was just announced...
Photo by Jeffrey Brown/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images Plus, we have dueling groundhog predictions Yesterday was Groundhog Day – one of the sillier holidays we put on a calendar. This holiday came with some controversy as there is disagreement in the groundhog ranks. The most famous one, Punxsutawney Phil, says there will be six more weeks of winter. A lesser known rodent, Unadilla Billie, says it will be an early spring. Since Billie is a Nebraskan, I’m going with that prediction. An early spring it...
Craig Strobeck-Imagn Images Is this the winning streak we needed to save our season? Quick Take: Eugene is a beautiful town and an awesome campus. My wife and two boys, along with my parents, traveled up here to cheer on our Huskers on their West Coast trip, and it has been (mostly) awesome. Great breweries (heck yeah Gratitude and Coldfire), and great hospitality. I will say, wow, thanks for the warm welcome Eugene fans. Being called ‘idiots’ and other foul names, shame on you and...
Dylan Widger-Imagn Images Nate M. Quick Thoughts: This is quite the opportunity for Nebraska to turn the season around. After a big win over Wisconsin in Lincoln, if Fred Hoiberg and the crew is able to get a win at #16 Oregon then the turnaround has begun. With this three game series of ranked opponents the Huskers are currently 1-1. If they can find a way to go 2-1 then their NCAA tournament chances have gone back up to where they were a month ago....
Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images Nebraska landed the biggest of the bigs with the transfer addition of offensive lineman Rocco Spindler (6-5/325lbs) from the Notre Dame line that played for the National Championship this past season. Spindler started in 23 games at guard over the past two seasons for the much-vaunted Fighting Irish team that has been quietly impressing with its solid line play. He will have one year of eligibility for the Huskers. Spindler domino affect Nebraska had been in the market for...
Robert Hanashiro-Imagn Images Nebraska could not overcome the defense and triple threat of Indiana This game seemed kind of out of control from the get go. Indiana could not miss from three and Nebraska couldn’t buy one. The Huskers, who average eight three’s a game, only hit three. Indiana’s defense made things difficult for Nebraska and completely took Alexis Markowski out of her game. The Hoosiers had a game plan and executed it well. This is a game that Nebraska will reflect on, but should...

The Huskers and Hoosiers meet in Bloomington for a Sunday morning tipoff The Husker women would like to get their fourth road win in a row when they visit the Indiana Hoosiers. Indiana is two games behind Nebraska in the conference standings and looking to protect their home court. Nebraska will need to cmoe out of the gate a lot sharper than they did at Purdue if they want to defeat a solid Hoosier team. Nebraska Cornhuskers at Indiana HoosiersSunday, February 2, 2025, 11 a.m....
Andy Ketterson As always, Coach Rhule shared freely at his press conference today. The special teams coach search, roster management, spring ball, NIL and the transfer portal and Dylan Raiola were all on the table. The brave, new world of college football marches along and Nebraska Head Coach Matt Rhule continues to be a voice for embracing it. And it’s becoming obvious this approach is the way to success – or continued success – as opposed to the Alabama Jones types in slippers and dark...
| Nebraska’s #6 Brock Hardy, seen here at the 2024 NCAA Championships, sparked a big Husker comeback with a win via pinfall at 141 pounds. | Getty Images After losing the first two matches, #4 Nebraska won eight straight in disposing of the Badgers in Lincoln The 4th-ranked Huskers stumbled out of the gate against the Badgers, but their veterans were there to right the ship on the way to a dominant 35-7 win over Wisconsin. | Kirby Lee-Imagn Images Now that we’ve had a little time to reflect, it’s time for the CornNation team to chime in on our thoughts about the expanded College Football Playoff. Was the 12-Team Playoff a Success? Jon: Yes. First of all, there was more college football against top teams who never schedule games against each other because most top teams avoid tough games. It also gave hope to those teams beyond just the top four and ESPN was forced to do something besides shill for... |
