Andy Ketterson Less babbling, more pictures. They may not be Pulitzer winners, but here’s some shots from the days press got access. With minimal babbling. Wanting some better quality shots for Nebraska Cornhuskers softball and getting the green light for spring and fall football practices, I decided to spring for an actual camera recently, and, if I’m being honest, we’re still getting to know each other. But, especially at softball where I’m writing while snapping what I can, it just felt a little weird blasting...
Photo by Williams Paul/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images We’re back! After taking our first week off in a very long time, Greg and Minnie return to your Thursday night with a show that is sure to inform and entertain. Or at least one of those. You be the judge! In post-season play, there can only be a handful of teams that end their season with a win. Fred Hoiberg’s Husker squad did just that, winning the inaugural College Basketball Crown with a 77-66 win over...
Michael Madrid-Imagn Images Don’t forget the joke of the week… Well, NCAA basketball season is over, so that means it’s now time for me to turn my attention to the Masters. April is such a fun time. You get to prank people on the first day of the month, you get to hate people for winning the company bracket the first weekend, you have the Masters and the beautiful Augusta National Golf Course the following week. Easter is usually some time in April, although not...
Nebraska Athletics The Ava’s both went deep to right, Sammie added another bomb and Jordy struggled a little but ultimately shut down threats, and Jayskers everywhere changed into their red stuff. Sometimes, that headline rhymes. And whatever gets Jayskers tearing off blue stuff and hastily reaching for that scarlet sweater vest or North Face fleece is always fine by the pure-reds. In the top of the 5th inning with two down, Creighton’s Lily West hit a solo homer and then Kaelan Schulz doubled off the...
Dylan Widger-Imagn Images The Nebraska wide receiver room is a tough group to preview. In the lone press conference with their position coach, Daikiel Shorts, most of the questions were about Shorts himself and he didn’t say much about the players. I think we have three guys that Nebraska should be able to rely on at the wide receiver position. Then we have two true freshmen who could end up being pretty special as they develop. After that there are a bunch of players we...
Nebraska recently hosted 5-star offensive lineman Jake Hildebrand and 4-star Albert Simien, who both had glowing reviews of the Huskers and Donovan Raiola. Hildebrand (6-6, 285 lbs) hails from Basha High School in Gilbert, Arizona, and is the top offensive tackle in the class and 21st in the nation, according to the 247 composite. Simien from Louisiana and Sam Houston High School (6-5, 260 lbs) is not far behind Hildebrand, ranked as the top interior lineman in the 2027 class and 51st nationally. What an...
| Lenny Pinto, seen here at the 2024 NCAA Championships, has entered the transfer portal. | Photo by Evert Nelson/NCAA Photos via Getty Images Pinto is a two-time Round-of-12 finisher at NCAAs and has been a mainstay for the Huskers for three years In a surprising move, Nebraska’s Lenny Pinto entered the transfer portal yesterday. A three-time NCAA Qualifier for the Huskers, Pinto will be a senior next season and has one year of eligibility remaining. PORTAL: 3x NCAA Qualifier at Nebraska, Lenny Pinto, has hit... |
Nebraska Athletics Huskers get some big pitches from some rarely used arms against the Jayhawks. Nebraska traveled down to Lawrence, Kansas tonight to take on an old friend in the Jayhawks. Kansas boasts one of the best offenses in the Big XII, and Nebraska has expressed interest in rolling out at least 6 pitchers on the night to get some little used arms some work in the midweek contest. Could have been a recipe for a rough night potentially. The scoring got started right away...
Corn Nation The Huskers travel to 1st-place (3-way tie) Northwestern with a huge chance to close the gap on the top of the standings. Oh, and play Creighton as well. Join us Tuesday night at 8pm CST for this week’s episode of Husker Heat! The Nebraska Cornhuskers travel to Evanston, IL, this weekend for a conference tilt with perennial Big 10 power, Northwestern. This is their biggest chance to try and jump up with the current big 3 in the B1G whom they trail by...
Photo by Isaiah Vazquez/Getty Images What’s old, is new again. Or the grass isn’t always greener. Or whatever it may be. Regardless, Jamarques Lawrence, a former Husker, is now a current Husker as he announced that he is coming back to Nebraska on his Instagram. Jamarques Lawrence is returning to Nebraska, per his Instagram. pic.twitter.com/CI5boJaSTJ — Amie Just (@Amie_Just) April 8, 2025 Jamarques Lawrence was last a Husker in the 2023-2024 season in which he played all 34 games and averaged 6.9 points per game....
Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images Who did you pick to win the NCAA National Championship? It was an eventful weekend around here, we went to the Supernovas game and my son had his First Communion. While we were at the Supernovas game, I got a text letting me know that my school was on fire. Fortunately, it was well contained and the firefighters were able to put it out quickly. Unfortunately two classrooms will now have to be gutted and four others are unable to keep any...
Photo by Keith Gillett/IconSportswire This preview makes me somewhat nervous. Nebraska wants to run the ball, but I’m wondering with who? Of course there is Emmett Johnson who ended up breaking out in the last half of the season in 2024 but then what after him? Would love to hear Rhule or Nebraska running backs coach E.J. Barthel would have to say on the subject. Maybe they will look to the portal to supplement the position? Projected Starter: Emmett Johnson Last season Emmett Johnson had...
