This message is to inform you, as one of our Northeast Kansans for Nebraska (NE KS 4 NE) chapter of the Nebraska Alumni Association (NAA) members and followers, that there is an unauthorized game of chance activity called “touchdown squares” promoted by a former NE KS 4 NE member. The game is represented as being in association with our chapter’s name. Our chapter nor the NAA supports or condones this game or similar games of chance. In addition, Hooters, has taken the position that this type of game activity is not permitted at our game watches. We cannot guarantee where the funds you are contributing will go if you participate. We have informed him that we could notify anyone that has already purchased square(s), which are very few, and they would have right to have their money refunded.
He has also created an unauthorized Facebook page mimicking our official Facebook page that is not related to our chapter. He is copying and posting items from our chapter’s official website and official Facebook page on it and is promoting his game on that page too.
The NE KS 4 NE chapter leadership has informed the individual that he must stop touchdown squares game and take down his Facebook page associating such activity with our Alumni Chapter or the NAA. To back that up, he was also issued a Cease-and-Desist order from the Nebraska Alumni Association telling him to immediately stop the touchdown squares game and take down the Facebook page. To date he has ignored both these edicts.
We wanted to make you aware of this situation, and to let you know to avoid this type of fundraising activity. We encourage you to donate to authorized Chapter fundraisers or directly to NAA approved fundraisers.
