Huskers put together a nice win against ACC foe Unlike most Big Ten teams the Huskers did what they had to do in the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
Boston College came in to Lincoln and tried to take home a win but the Husker shooting early on doomed their chances of doing so. Even with a couple of dry spells shooting the big red was able to build enough of a lead and took down the Eagles 71 to 62.
The Huskers took the lead early in the game and even with Boston College getting to within 1 point of them they never lost the lead the entire game. The Huskers shot over 50% from the floor for most of the game and ended the night with 49% shooting. This was a big boost from the past few games and higher than their season average of 43.7%.
Nebraska also did fairly well beyond the arch hitting 9 of 19 three pointers on the night. Many of which were early in the game that helped pad the Huskers lead as Boston College would creep close to taking the lead later on.
Even though they lost, Boston College did fairly well on the night and shot around 50% along with Nebraska. A late in the game scoring drought doomed their chances of winning and they ended the night with 42% shooting. They did fairly well defensively and dominated the rebounding with 40 rebounds to the Huskers 32.
Senior guard Evan Taylor came out strong going 3 for 3 at the 3 point line that helped set the tone for the Huskers early on. A huge boost to a team that has had trouble with consistency this year in that department. Evans ended the night with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists.
Isaiah Copeland lead the way for Nebraska with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists. Jesse Palmer Jr. tied Isaiah for points with 15 and addd 5 steals to the Huskers total of 9 in the game.
Glynn Watson Jr., who played with a bit of a bug in his system, had 10 points assists and 3 rebounds. Not bad for a guy under the weather.
Nebraska next heads to East Lansing to take on the #3 Michigan State Spartans this Sunday. Tip off is at 3:30pm and can be seen on FS1.
