All who attended had a great time at our chapter’s annual picnic on Saturday, July 30th. The virtual speaker was Husker Sports Nightly cohost Jessica Coody who gave her insight on Husker men’s and women’s sports including the upcoming 2022 Football season.  Jessica will take on the duties of sideline reporter during the football season this year.  All attending liked the change of venue to St. David’s Parish Hall.  The site has more room for attendees, great climate control to keep things cool with better food serving capabilities.  With the ability to use the facility’s highspeed internet Zooming to two 86″ HDTV sets Jessica could easily seen and heard by all in attendance.  Chapter leadership feels using this facility in the future will allow us to continue to get high quality speakers such as Jessica for future picnics.

Thanks go out to Jeff Egnoske who provided wine and beer, Ty Dragoo who provided Fairbury Brand Hot Dogs, Reser’s Family Foods, who provided potato & macaroni salad as well as coleslaw. Hooters who provided great chicken wings and the Runza Restaurant in Lawrence who donated Runzas.

It was announced that the Road to Nebraska scholarship drive raised over $2,500 toward our scholarship fund.  There were silent and live auctions of Husker memorabilia with the proceeds going to our scholarship fund. Husker fans in the area got ready for the 2022 football season with this great event.  Watch for details on our website for next year’s picnic.

Join us at our chapter’s game watches at Hooters in Topeka during every game throughout the football season.  We will have drawings for great items at halftime including Eagle Auto Wash certificates, Husker logoed hats, as well as other great Husker fun stuff.  Go Big Red!
